Job Summary
We are looking to hire an Accountant within the Business Advisory Services Group, the ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring accounts receivables, monthly bank reconciliation and maintaining all necessary books of accounts, documents and records. Ultimately, ensure the financial information asset of the firm is well protected, and preserved with confidentiality. Interested candidate must be willing to work outside Lagos.
Job Details
- Manage and maintain accounting records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and other financial data.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts regularly.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements to provide insights and recommendations to the Finance Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal financial regulations.
- Manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits.
- Process WHT payments and VAT returns.
- Provide information on financial position (Treasury Report).
- Process requests and retirement from the Expense Management System (EMS).
- Provide support during annual audits
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain fixed assets register and assets schedule.
Requirements
- B.Sc/HND in accounting, finance or other related fields
- A minimum of Second Class Lower/Upper credit degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong technical accounting skills and proficiency with accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 software package with an emphasis on Excel.
- General knowledge of automated accounting systems
- Open to working outside Lagos State.
- Data processing skills, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal financial regulations
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred
